Girl Scout Tackles Tickborne Disease Prevention and Earns Highest Award Possible

Congratulations to Rhaina Vanek for receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award! This is the highest award a Senior or Ambassador Girl Scout can earn. For her project, Rhaina chose to tackle the task of getting our trail signs installed in Will County Forest Preserves. She did everything from getting approval and obtaining permits to locating the grounds for sign placement. We may be biased, but we think the signs look perfect!

Rhaina saw a need to educate her community about ticks and tickborne disease prevention, and she knew she could do something about it! We’re so proud of Rhaina and the leadership and advocacy she demonstrated  to make this project happen.
