The size of a baby tick can be very, very small. The tick picture to the left was found on one of our kittens. This is a fully engorged tick. If it wasn't engorged, do you think you would spot it?

I submitted this picture to TickSpotter's at www.tickencounter.org and they confirmed it was a Lone Star.

TickEncounter is a great resource, check them out! Lone Stars are believed to be responsible for Alpha Gal Syndrome. This is an anaphylactic allergy to red meat. This is the second Lone Star we have found in a little over a week.

Please be sure your pets are protected and you treat your clothes with Permethrin. Ticks are out there!
