Reflecting on an Impactful Year in Illinois

By Jennifer Russell, Executive Director

As 2023 draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we've embarked on together as a community committed to positive change for those affected by Lyme and tick-borne diseases in our state. As the Executive Director of Illinois Lyme Association (ILA), I am honored to share with you the remarkable accomplishments and strides we've made in the past 12 months. This year has truly been a testament to the power of collective action and the unwavering dedication of our supporters.

Your generosity and commitment have fueled our mission, enabling us to raise more than $40,000 through fundraising efforts, such as our annual golf outing, spring and fall gatherings in Chicago, and #GivingTuesday campaign.

A few key milestones we achieved this year include:

These initiatives not only addressed pressing issues in our community but also served as catalysts for broader awareness and change in our state. Your contributions, whether in time, expertise, or financial support, have played a pivotal role in making ILA’s vision a reality.

As we turn the page to a new year, I am filled with optimism for the future. The foundation we've built together provides a solid platform for continued growth and impact. Our commitment to Lyme disease education, awareness, and advocacy remains steadfast, and I’m confident that with your ongoing support, we will achieve even greater heights in the coming year.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has contributed to ILA in any way. Your belief in our mission, your tireless efforts, and your generosity have made a meaningful difference in the lives of many. I am continually inspired by the spirit of collaboration and compassion that defines our community.

As we approach the new year, I wish you and your loved ones joy and peace. May the coming year be filled with new opportunities, continued growth, and the shared success of our collective endeavors.

Thank you for being an integral part of the ILA family. Here's to a bright and promising 2024!

With heartfelt gratitude,

 Jennifer Russell,

Executive Director, ILA
